On January 31, 2006, the Walter R. Roberts Endowment was established in an official ceremony in the office of GWU President Steven Joel Trachtenberg .

The Endowment was established with a generous contribution of Dr. Roberts and annual contributions by friends and supporters of excellence in public diplomacy have allowed the Endowment to continue its activities.

Through the years, the Endowment has received assistance to fund the various events and activities organized by Institute for Public Diplomacy and Global Communication. This work to support academic research and study, as well as professional development and practice of public diplomacy continues thanks to the generous support of these donors.

The Endowment has also made possible Public Diplomacy Awards to GWU graduate students in the School of Media and Public Affairs (SMPA) and the Elliott School of International Affairs.

Your support of the vital Public Diplomacy outreach work is greatly appreciated.
