Press Officers at U.S. Embassies: Dealing with Foreign Media

How do Public Affairs Officers of the Foreign Service deal with foreign press while posted at an Embassy? Patricia Kabra, Public Diplomacy Fellow, and Frank Finver, Senior Adviser for Public Diplomacy in the Near Eastern Affairs Bureau at the U.S. Department of State will discuss how Public Affairs Officers at U.S. embassies deal with foreign media around the world.

Patricia Kabra is currently IPDGC's Public Diplomacy Fellow for the 2014-15 academic year. Previously, she served at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo as Public Affairs Counselor. As a Senior Foreign Service Officer, her assignments have spanned across the Middle East, including Damascus, Jerusalem, and Doha. Frank Finver is a Senior Adviser in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs who also served as Public Affairs Officers at the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem and U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
