Public Diplomacy Fellow
The U.S. State Department sends a Visiting Senior Foreign Service Officer to teach an undergraduate class in public diplomacy at the School of Media and Public Affairs. Hosted by IPDGC, the Public Diplomacy Fellowship was initiated in order to strengthen the relationship between the Department and GW, as well as to support academic endeavors in the fields of public diplomacy and global communication.

In 2023, IPDGC re-established the partnership with the Public Diplomacy Council of America (PDCA). With that, the First Monday Forums were again hosted at the Elliott School of International Affairs. The lunchtime speaker programs feature experts on public diplomacy or international broadcasting and fit well with the Institute’s mission goals to support academic excellence in global communication and public diplomacy, as well as provide opportunities for professional development
